The New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments continues—and so do the thrills and danger for Jace, Clary, and Simon.

What price is too high to pay, even for love? When Jace and Clary meet again, Clary is horrified to discover that the demon Lilith’s magic has bound her beloved Jace together with her evil brother Sebastian, and that Jace has become a servant of evil. The Clave is out to destroy Sebastian, but there is no way to harm one boy without destroying the other. As Alec, Magnus, Simon, and Isabelle wheedle and bargain with Seelies, demons, and the merciless Iron Sisters to try to save Jace, Clary plays a dangerous game of her own. The price of losing is not just her own life, but Jace’s soul. She’s willing to do anything for Jace, but can she still trust him? Or is he truly lost?

Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge. Darkness threatens to claim the Shadowhunters in the harrowing fifth book of the Mortal Instruments series.

Review:

So I reread this book today in honor of City Of Heavenly Fire being released in exactly 1 month. And what else can I say?

I want to cry.
And sob.
And just sit in the corner until the next book comes out.
Again.

Why. Why. WHY did you do this Cassandra! Why did you take my heart out and trample on it.
I swear Cassie is just getting better with each book.
The first book was like, it's not that bad. Still pretty readable. A bit cliché in certain parts. The whole love triangle thing. I know who she's gonna end with.

Then the second book was like, this one was a little boring to me. Because usually middle books are. But personally I found it of better quality than the first book.

And then the third book just suddenly went BAM and it got me addicted to the plot and the action and the romance and suddenly I was just Team TMI forever! And the TMI series became one of my all time favourite books.

In 2011, I found out that apparently COG wasn't the last book. Nope. Not even close. And then COFA came out, and I absolutely fell in love with it. It was then that I was like so in love I reread the books over and over again.

In 2012, COLS came out on May 8th. I was so excited I dumped everything regardless of the fact that I had ahemexamsthenextday and bought the book that very day and boy did it not fail to please me.

I was obviously a wreck after reading it.

Just like now. After I reread it again for the thousandth time.

There's so much that can be ranted for such a well written book but rI'm not going to spoil the fun for any of you who have not read it.

Basically just know that everyone inside the book/series is kickass and beautiful and Cassie Clare is a ridiculously talented storyteller who likes to break hearts and honestly evil characters are not supposed to be so sexy but they are here. I literally swear on this book that you will not regret reading this book although you may be rendered helpless with the emotional overload after reading this literary genius of a book.

Please go and read this book. But first go read City of Bones. You have too! The series is just extraordinary and it will give you all kinds of feels and sadly, it's ending in exactly one month. Afterwards, do come back and talk about it with me because I need to talk to someone about this book. I mean the amount of feels that are just going to be consumed throughout the book needs to be let out.

Also, please do go check out my crackpot theories for COHF. Which is basically just crazy theories I form and hope may happen in the last book! Heavy spoilers there!

Love,
Ri <3
